History of Trattoria Pizza & Italian

A Trattoria is a small Italian restaurant, casual and welcoming in nature where the prices are low and the food is delicious. This is where Trattoria Pizza and Italian gets our name. Here you are welcomed as family and your table is always waiting. We've been serving South Alabama since 2014, and remain true to our dedication to serve delicious Italian cuisine in a comfortable atmosphere.

We believe the key to our success has been an eye for detail... sauces, dressings, soups, are all made fresh from scratch.

“We will take it a big step forward. Our bakery will produce fresh, hand tossed pizza dough, homemade, fresh baked bread for our delicious sandwiches as well as our signature Garlic Ballz. The sights, sounds and smells will be as inviting as everything on our menu.”

Jill Peterson

Jill Peterson is a self-described FOODIE! She began in the restaurant business at age 14 and has enjoyed experiencing new flavors ever since. She began bussing tables at a popular steakhouse in Omaha, Nebraska, moved on to become a team member at Godfather’s Pizza, eventually managing 6 restaurants simultaneously in St. Louis, Mo. Trattoria’s perfected recipes and superior service are a direct reflection of Jill’s experience and love of food!

Greg Peterson

Greg Peterson began making pizza at age 14 in a small pizzeria in Chicago. He too, worked bussing tables, and cooking in kitchens through high school. His eventual career in broadcast journalism (He anchors the news on NBC 15 in Mobile, Al) has led him to many locations across the country. His favorite restaurants have always been authentic Italian. His vision of combining the casual, delicious foods of Little Italy in New York City, with the hospitality and comfort of south Alabama has proven to be an amazing combination.
